SFX: *sob* Youko: Yeah, well you're getting poor food!! (There's a pun here - Kantarou says he wants "seiyouken", and Youko says he's getting "seihin", which sounds close enough. But "seihin" means "beauty in poverty.") Youko: It's good for you!! (She says literally that it's more pure - the Zen aesthetic states that poverty is superior to excess, but I don't think Kantarou follows Zen~~) Youko: Now eat, eat! *heart* Kantarou: ...... Youko: How is it? Kantarou: Maybe I should say a prayer before I eat it. SFX: *rustle* Youko: Huh? Kantarou: Adoration to the Omniscient - the Essence of the Great Perfection of Translucent Wisdom. When Avalokitateshvara Bodhisattva performed the Perfection of Translucent Wisdom, he contemplated that all is void, thereby attaining freedom from all suffering. Kantarou: Form is not different from nothingness, nothingness is not different from form. Form is itself nothingness, and nothingness is itself form. And so it is for perception, conception, volition and consciousness. Kantarou: All things have the essence of nothingness. They are not born and they do not die, they are neither wicked nor pure, they neither gain nor diminish. Kantarou: And so there is no form within nothingness; nor perception, conception, volition nor consciousness; and there is not eye, ear, nose, tongue, body nor mind. Neither is there form, sound, smell, taste, touch nor thought. 153 Kantarou: Here, a cunning fox spirit tricks unknowing passerby... Kantarou: Into believing her to be a part of their family... Youko: What...!? Kantarou: The people of this village have hired me as a magician to exorcise the spirit... 154 Kantarou: I'm sorry, but this is work... Kantarou: There is no ignorance, and no end to ignorance. There is no old age nor death, and no end to old age and death. There is no attainment because nothing can be attained. Youko: No... SFX: *step back* Youko: I... I haven't done anything wrong... Kantarou: It is only though the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom that bodhisattvas can reach an unfettered state of mind. Youko: I was just so lonely... Youko: I've been around so many hundred of years, all alone... Kantarou: In the abscence of hinderance, they have no fear. Kantarou: Having removed all confused and aberrant thoughts, they enter Nirvana. SFX: *crack* Kantarou: Through the perfection of Transcendant Wisdom, all Buddhas of the three periods realise the highest, perfect Enlightenment. Youko: No... Youko: For this reason, we know that the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom is a Great Divine Mantra, a Great Wisdom Mantra, an Unsurpassed Mantra, and an Unequaled Mantra. It is capable of removing all suffering. It is true and unperverted. Hence, the Perfection of Transcendent Wisdom Mantra is proclaimed as follows: "Gone, gone to the other side, gone completely to the other side, amen." Youko: NOOOO!! 155 SFX: *crash* Kantarou: Do you... Kantarou: Want to be a part of my family? 156 Youko: Come on, Kan-chan!! Youko: Don't tease me!! Get a job!! Youko: Now all you do is look for that tengu! Youko: Are you going to let us go hungry!? We're broke!! B-R-O-K-E!! Youko: Ahh, can't I dream of eating good food for once in my life?
