Aka-chan: To have mastered so much in such a short time since awakening... interesting... Aka-chan: Well then, time to deal with these insolent brats... Tora: What the...!? He's got a lot of balls to cross his arms when he's fighting us... 5 Sasuke: ...Huh!? 6 Aka-chan: Who's next? Sasuke: What the... Sasuke: In that instant, he attacked Tora!? How the hell...!? Yuya: Sekireigan won't be enough...!! Yukimura: Sekireigan... 7 Aka-chans: Am I here? Yukimura: What...? Yuya: Y... Yukimura-san...!! 8 Aka-chan: You were too slow in attacking. If that's the best you can do, I'd advise you to be more careful. Sasuke: Yeah... well take this!! Sasuke: Hiraijin - Kirin!! Sasuke: How was that!? Aka-chan: You must be one of Hishigi's little experiments... I was expecting something a bit more interesting... 9 Sasuke: Gaah!! Yuya: S... Sasuke-kun!! Aka-chan: ...Is that all? That was rather dull.. Aka-chan: Kyoushirou!! Aka-chan: ...Kyoushirou, you cannot raise your sword against me... what is the meaning of this...? Kyoushirou: I know that, but... 10 Kyoushirou: I'm just setting the trap!! Kyo?: [Shishin Douji Hatsudou!! (Four Gods Simultaneous Attack!!)] Aka-chan: What...? Kyoushirou: DO IT!! 11 Yuya: Kyoushirou...!! Aka-chan: ...You've failed... Yuya: Oh... oh no... Aka-chan: Even a suicidal attack is futile... Kyoushirou, don't you see it's all meaningless...? Yuya: KYO!! 13 Kyoushirou: I knew my imperfect four gods attack would be no match for you... so I stalled you while Kyo timed his attack to hit you off guard... Tora: That's right... we were all just decoys to lure you into that split second of distraction... Yukimura: It's all been a trap... you overestimated your own ability. Kyo: GO!! 14 Tora: He... he stopped it!! Aka-chan: ...Is this really the best you can do...? Kyoushirou: ...It's here. 15 Yuya: ...It's that golden wind... Yukimura: Kyo-san... that Kouryuu can even take on the Former Aka no Ou... right? Kyoushirou: It worked... thank goodness... Kyo: .... Kyoushirou: ...Hey Kyo, you did great on your own... how about I leave everything else to you too, huh...? Kyo: ... Kyoushirou: Okay so can we all go home now? Kyoushirou: GAAAH!! Kyo: Kyoushirou!? Aka-chan: But you haven't felt true despair... Yuya: [N... no...] 20 Yuya: [Even Kyo... Even Kyo with his True Mibu power, using the ultimate secret technique "Kouryuu"... even Kyo can't defeat him...!!] Aka-chan: [Until you've stood before god and faced his wrath...] Text: [The ultimate attack had no effect!? Surrounded on all sides, how will they defeat a god!?] Next chapter: Demon Blood!! Notes: Oooh, this is interesting! You probably know the five elements of Chinese mythology (fire, water, wood, metal and earth) because those are seen in the Goyousei (and in Fushigi Yuugi, haha). In Chinese philosophy, each of the elements is associated with a certain direction, season, color and animal spirit, so you get: Wood - East - Spring - Blue - Seiryuu (Dragon) Fire - South - Summer - Red - Suzaku (Phoenix) Metal - West - Autumn - White - Byakko (Tiger) Water - North - Winter - Black - Genbu (Turtle/Snake) Earth - Center - ???? - Gold - Kouryuu (Dragon) But you usually only see 4 gods, right? No Kouryuu? Well, Japan has a different set of 5 elements, drawn from Onmyoudou. The Onmyoudou elements and their corresponding animals are like this: Earth - Genbu Wind - Byakko Fire - Suzaku Water - Seiryuu Void - None But Buddhism has the same gods as the Chinese version, only the four gods are called Bishamonten, Zojoten, Jikokuten, Komokuten and they serve and protect Taishakuten, the greatest god of the center. They're actually borrowed from the Hindu Lokapalas. They're called the Shintenno or Tenbu. Modern Japanese myth seen in manga/anime incorporates Shinto, Buddhism and Onmyoudou, and often a lot of Hinduism and Christianity as well. *laugh* So it gets pretty confusing (with 8 million gods in Shinto alone, they say), so Kouryuu/Taishakuten isn't as well known these days in Japan.
